I'm Lost

As much as I dissed the guy...I'm a little sad right now because American Idol is going to start in an hour and I already miss Sanjaya. No, I don't miss his singing. I do miss the fact he made Simon squirm. He gave the show something interesting to talk about other than the same old 'who do you think should go home' talk. And in my opinion, he gave me one of the funniest moments in television this year...when he made the little blonde girl cry so hard she almost threw up!

What will the world be like without baby Sanjaya?

Why did it have to be Red?

Last night Aaron and I were just hanging out and we decided to open a bottle of wine. We usually drink white wines, but someone bought us a bottle of Merlot. A few glasses later I decided to stand up and walk to the kitchen with the full glass of wine in my hand. (You can imagine what happened next) I trip up on our area rug and wine fell out of the glass and onto the WHITE carpet! After a few 4-letter words I grabbed a rag and carpet spray and I go to work on the stain. Ten minutes go by and the stain is still there. I went online and read about using warm water and dish soap, still nothing worked.

But I'm laughing at myself because I psyched myself out. Hundreds of times I've walked around the house carrying coffee, milk, tea, soda, white wine and I never spilled any of it. Then we opened the Merlot and bam, I spill the wine. The moral of the story is that I just need to calm down when I'm walking and the next time we drink red wine we need to be on our back porch.

The Dentist Experience

Yesterday I had to go to the dentist for a routine cleaning. And yes, I am the one crazy person in the world who likes going to the dentist. I don't know if it's the way my teeth feel so clean when I'm done or the fact that they give me a cute pink toothbrush when I leave. Either way, I enjoy the experience. This time was interesting, because my dentist wanted to get my take on the Imus in the morning situation that went down last week. Keep in mind, I have 3 different tools in my mouth while he is talking to me. What's funny, is he carried on the whole conversation by himself. You know those people that call you and they do all the talking? That's what happened yesterday at the dentist. When he was done venting on the situation he said to me, " I know exactly what you mean". In my head, I'm thinking, "OK, but I didn't say anything". Whatever he thought I had said put him in a good mood because he said he "felt better"once the conversation was done. All I know is that I 'felt better' knowing I didn't have any cavities!

Virginia Tech

I'm at work today, going about my normal routine and then I click on msn.com and I see the title "Horror at Virginia Tech" and I'm frozen at my desk, shocked at the images on my computer. It seems that life can go on as normal and then a second later you're reminded that the world we live in has changed. My heart aches for the students, staff and family at Virginia Tech and yet, it's a realization that you're not guaranteed tomorrow.

My husband is going to school to become a teacher and one day we hope to have a family, but like many other people, I see stories like Virginia Tech, Green Bay East and Columbine and I wonder what kind of world will my kids grow up in? I can only hope that good will win out in the end.

So the family is coming up this weekend for Easter. We're pretty excited about it, except that we have a 1 bedroom apartment and there's 4 extra people that need somewhere to sleep. At least I know the new air mattress will finally get some use! I don't know about your family, but with mine there's always 2 essentials I need to have before they come up: Beer for Dad and ice cream for Mom and my sisters. Once they have that they'll forget about the lack of space. I just hope the Easter Bunny remembers to bring more baskets!

Our Newest Family Member!

After much thought, over the weekend Aaron and I went to Petco and bought a baby guinea pig! He only weighs a pound and a half and he's really sweet. We're pet lovers and we can't have a cat in the apartment and a dog wouldn't fly with the people below us, so we opted for a cute little fuzzy pet! His name is 'Pirate' and he already went to the bathroom on Aaron and I think he's sick of me smothering him with kisses, but who can resist that cute face!
